Ciao! I’m Kathleen, the baker behind Dolci d’Italia. My love for Italian baking began not with heritage but with family. Though I’m not Italian, my husband is from the beautiful region of Abruzzo, Italy. Over the years, through countless visits to his hometown, I fell in love with the warmth, tradition , and irresistible sweets of the Italian culture. I’ve been baking since I was very young ( it all started with an Easy Bake Oven)and have worked in various culinary settings with my degree in Food science and Nutrition. It wasn’t until my family moved to Georgia, and we struggled to find an Italian bakery, that I began learning to bake Italian sweets myself. From crispy biscotti to delicate Pizzelle, I found joy in recreating the flavors of Italy in my own kitchen. What began as a personal passion, quickly turned into something more. I shared my baked goods with friends and neighbors, and their encouragement led to the birth of Dolci d’Italia - a bakery rooted in tradition, fueled by love, and hand-crafted with care.
